IPNews® - The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday said it would not take up Nova Chemicals Corp.'s appeal of a $61.7 million patent infringement judgment in favor of Dow Chemical Co. in a case over advanced plastic polymers.

A Delaware federal jury handed down its infringement verdict in 2010, and the district court refused to modify or overturn the judgment despite Nova's arguments. The Federal Circuit rejected Nova's appeal of the verdict in April, ruling that there was no error in the district court's standing and invalidity analyses, and that substantial evidence support's the jury's infringement finding.
